I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix + O- g0 D$ f: }6 j6 l# y1 v% x/ q/ Q. D% p9 }$ M$ O* X5 j5 ?$ W
